Laundry Products for Sensitive Skin (Review & Giveaway) #PGmom

It didn't ACTUALLY happen this way, but I swear when my Mom found out I was pregnant, the first thing she did was run out and buy a bottle of Ivory Snow. OK. Maybe she didn't buy it, but she definitely started watching for sales so she could purchase it closer to the birth of her first grandchild.

Hannah's clothes have been washed in Ivory Snow since the day she was born. Ivory Snow is definitely a part of that "baby" smell everyone loves to breathe in when receiving baby cuddles. (Even I fall victim to the scent and totally sniff her clothing as I am folding it.)

But Hannah is officially a toddler now, and washing her clothes separately from ours was starting to become a chore (especially with various wardrobe changes that come with daycare - painting, water stations, attempting to eat anything and everything that accompanies a tomato sauce...).

Which is why I'm happy I can now wash all of our clothes together with laundry products for sensitive skin!

Tide Free & Gentle Liquid Detergent has been specially designed for sensitive skin. It’s made with no dyes or perfumes and is dermatologist tested to provide your fabrics with a great clean that’s gentle on your skin.

Ultra Downy Free & Sensitive Liquid Softener is the leading “free” fabric softener that’s also 100 per cent dermatologist tested so you can focus on enjoying fabrics that are wonderfully soft with less static and fewer wrinkles. Experience all the softness of Downy, free from dyes, perfumes, and worries.

Use Bounce Free & Sensitive Dryer Sheets and enjoy the softness and static protection of regular dryer sheets without perfumes or dyes.

So while I'm sad to see Ivory Snow go, I'm glad I can do all of our laundry together with no worries about scents or dyes. Yes, I actually used the words "glad" and "laundry" in the same sentence.

And since I'm a fan of cool scientific facts, here are a couple for you regarding laundry products:
  • During World Wars I & II, an animal and vegetable fat shortage triggered the creation of detergent surfactants. Procter & Gamble invented Tide in 1943.
  • Surfactant molecules have two parts. One is "water loving" and the other is "water hating". The water-loving (hydrophilic) part breaks the surface tension of water. The water-hating (hydrophobic) part is attracted to oil and grease in soils, loosening and removing them from fabrics. Detergents usually contain more than one type of surfactant to address the needs of removing certain types of soils and cleaning different types of fabrics.
You can thank me (and P&G of course), when you mention these fun facts at your next cocktail party or uh, in the laundry room of your building. (P.S. Can you believe Tide is 70 years old?!?)

I don't mind doing laundry, but sometimes when I am pressed for time it's not always possible to get the clothes folded before they wrinkle.
